Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s much-awaited romantic comedy ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ finally hit theaters on Christmas Day, and the box office numbers are creating quite a stir! Originally planned for a 2026 release, the film surprised everyone by advancing its debut to December 25, 2025. But did the early arrival pay off? Let’s break down the numbers.

Day 1 Collections: Better Than Expected, But…
According to early reports from Sacnilk, the film raked in around Rs 7.50 crore on its opening day. However, the final estimate settled at Rs 7.25 crore India net – still better than the initial predictions of Rs 5 crore! The gross collection reportedly crossed the Rs 9 crore mark, which isn’t bad for a romantic comedy in today’s competitive market.
Theater Occupancy Tells An Interesting Story
The movie saw an overall Hindi occupancy of 34.56%, with morning shows being the slowest at just 18.18%. But here’s the good news – night shows pulled in a solid 40.23% occupancy! Looks like couples chose this rom-com for their Christmas evening plans.
The Real Challenge: ‘Dhurandhar’ Dominates
Here’s where things get interesting. Despite being a fresh release on a holiday, Kartik’s film got completely overshadowed by ‘Dhurandhar’, the Hindi spy-thriller that’s already in its third week! The action-packed film earned a whopping Rs 26 crore on the same day – its third-highest collection in Week 3. Ouch!
Hollywood Giant Adds To The Pressure
As if competing with ‘Dhurandhar’ wasn’t tough enough, ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ also had to face James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, which has been ruling the box office since last weekend. The Hollywood blockbuster scored an impressive Rs 13 crore on Thursday alone, marking one of its best weekday performances.
How Does It Compare To Recent Releases?
Remember Kapil Sharma’s ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2‘ that released just last week? That film struggled big time and couldn’t even match the lifetime collection of the original ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ (Rs 49 crore). In comparison, Kartik’s latest offering is holding its ground better, considering the brutal competition.
Kartik Aaryan’s Box Office Report Card
The Rs 7.25 crore opening places this film among Kartik’s top 5 highest Day 1 collections. While it’s nowhere near his blockbuster ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ (Rs 36.60 crore) or even ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ (Rs 14.11 crore), it’s still respectable. The big question now is whether it can beat ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, which opened at Rs 8.25 crore.
Star-Studded Cast
Directed by Sameer Vidwans, the film features a talented ensemble including Neena Gupta, Jackie Shroff, Aruna Irani, and Tiku Talsania in pivotal roles alongside the lead pair.
Will the weekend bring better news for Team Kartik, or will ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Avatar’ continue their dominance? Only time will tell!
